We live 5 minutes from Scotlands new national park, on the banks of loch lomond (a great place for the dogs to run and have fun, tho' you have to be on the look out for rabbits and squirrels).
My love of afghan hounds began a long time ago. I was around 10 years of age when my best friend Val  got an afghan puppy. He was called "Jason "( I dont remember his pedigree name) and was a shaded masked gold. Jason was a real character, full of mischief, he had a fantastic tempermant. I fell in love with the breed there and then, though it was to take me many years to finally own my  first afghan. Jason passed away aged 12 years.  I have always had dogs, mainly collie/crosses, but my heart longed for an afghan. In the years that followed I moved from glasgow to Loch Lomond, got married, had 4 lovely kids, 2 boys and 2 girls (quads) born 1989. I got divorced in 1997 (though I remain friends with my ex). Then in january 1999 while at work I noticed and advert in the daily paper for homes for rescued afghan hounds. I telephoned the number and went on the waiting list. At the end of february I got a phone call to say a black/silver afghan was in need of a home, after a home check "Cruise" came to stay. Sadly Cruise wasn't with us for long. I then fostered "Alfie" , a lovely little black masked gold boy ( I would have loved to have kept him). Then came "Mac" another black masked gold boy from rescue,  Mac is a real character, very much like Jason (always up to something ), he is our mad-man. I now had my afghan, though one is never enough. So in march 2000, we took the plunge and bought a 10 month old black/silver boy "Arab" or "Rabbie" as he is usually called.  I then started showing Rabbie at exemption and open shows, at which he did well. I then had a go at championship level, again he did  well (and I caught the show bug). Now my daughter Lianne has the show bug too and enjoys junior handling.
2003
In march 2003 I applied to the kennel club for my own affix, and after a few attempts got the affix "Javidan" which means Forever in arabic. On the 27th July 2003 Arab gained his Stud Book Number at Leeds.  Our next addition was a blue girl, she is "Shadowfax Ciao Poppaea" or Indie as she is known at home. She was born 15th June 2003 and is grand-daughter of a dog I have long admired "Gazon Say What You Mean"(Chevy). Indie came to live with us on 23rd August 2003.  Lianne now shows Arab in the breed classes at open and championship shows and has won several Best of Breed and group placings.  She hopes one day to show Indie too (but we will have to wait until Indie calms down in the ring*LOL*).
2006
In January 2006 we took the plunge again and now have another girl, "Khamis Meerkat" (Meera) she is black/silver. Meera too is a "Chevy" grand-daughter . We decided to breed our 1st litter, and in August 2006 Indie was mated to "Justice" Khamis Poetic Justice (Arabs brother). On the 13th October 2006 Indie gave birth to 9 beautiful puppies, 4 boys and 5 girls.
2007
The "Bon Jovi" litter have now settled in their new homes, we kept 4 of them here at Javidan. Mum Indie made her return to the ring in October 2007 at the Afghan Hound Club of Scotland Champ show where she was placed 3rd in Open Bitch, gaining her Stud Book Number. We are pleased that she is back with us at shows and doing well. Indie is only be lightly shown due to a recurring shoulder problem caused by an injury while a puppy.
2008
Kissi and Valo are doing well at both Championship and open shows.  Dana hasn 't been shown much due to her lack of coat and Amy is not too keen on the show ring. Kissi, Valo & Amy are all Crufts Qualified for 2009.
2009
Kissi & Valo continue to do well at both open & championship shows. Both are qualified for Crufts 2010. Meera has gone to live with my daughter Claire and is having a great time enjoying running in the park. Meera has never liked being shown and is much happier now. Kissi gained her Studbook number winning the RCC at Blackpool in June and got her Show Certificate of Merit in August.

That is our story so far, please check back for further up-dates.
